OUR CHILDREN WERE TAKEN: NCWS Oyo Appeals for Safe Release of Abducted Students, Teachers


The National Council of Women’s Societies (NCWS), Oyo State Chapter, has appealed to the Federal Government, Oyo State Government, security agencies, and relevant stakeholders to intensify efforts toward the safe release of students and teachers abducted during the recent attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In a statement issued by the President of NCWS Oyo State, Mrs. Kikelomo Olu Oyelade, the council expressed concern over the incident involving Community Grammar School and L.A. Primary School in Ahoro-Esinele, as well as First Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota.

According to the statement, several students and teachers were affected during the attack, a development NCWS described as painful and deeply troubling.

The organisation appreciated the ongoing efforts of the Federal Government, Oyo State Government, security agencies, community leaders, and all stakeholders already working toward the rescue of those affected.

NCWS also specially appealed to the wife of the President, , to lend her voice and support to ongoing efforts aimed at securing the safe release of the abducted students and teachers.

Mrs. Kikelomo Olu Oyelade called for continued collaboration among government institutions, humanitarian groups, traditional leaders, and concerned Nigerians to ensure that all victims return safely to their families.

The council further urged citizens to keep supporting affected families while maintaining hope for the safe reunion of the abducted persons with their loved ones.

NCWS reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the welfare, protection, and safety of children and educational communities across the state.
