2024: A Year Of Shadows

2024: A Year of Shadows

At the edge of dawn, I stood alone,
A traveler lost, my path unknown.
The weight of days, a heavy chain,
Each step forward met with pain.

Dreams once bright are distant now,
Furrowed lines upon my brow.
The plot of life, I seem to miss,
A broken map, a fateful abyss.

The debts rise high, the nights are cold,
Living hand to mouth gets old.
I left the work that dulled my soul,
But freedom came with its own toll.

I turned to heaven, sought God’s face,
But silence echoed in His place.
The proud rejoice, their laughter loud,
While I retreat beneath a cloud.

Shame greets me with each new day,
Mocking hopes that slip away.
My heart is tired, my will unsure,
A weary soul that must endure.

Yet in the shadows, lessons gleam,
Buried deep within the dream.
Though broken now, I still remain,
A vessel shaped by loss and pain.

2024, a year of trial,
A road that stretched mile by mile.
A journey carved in sorrow’s stone,
But still my story is my own.
